FROM IDEA TO FORM
The tree structure forms the foundation of the design. The trunk was present as a frame and has been covered with textile by us. For the leaves, a construction with ribs has been applied, defining and maintaining shape and tension.
Everything has been developed with an eye for how it can be made, so that design and construction form one cohesive whole.
This project underlines the craftsmanship of Van der Lelie, from high quality window treatments to creative tailor made solutions where fabric and form come together.
From curtain to skirt
Within the project, the same fabric is applied in multiple ways. The pleats and movement of the curtain return in a skirt, without losing the character of the material.
It shows how textiles can be translated into different forms, while preserving structure and appearance.
